The Bachelor Recap: Hometown Visits

By Kjersten

This week on The Bachelor: Hometown Dates. I love these, I really do agree that you get to know someone when you see them at home. First off, Jake heads to Gia’s hometown, New York. After seeing the Big Apple by boat, they go meet her family. Erick, Gia’s brother, says, just watch out, to which Gia responds, “I don’t wanna watch out anymore.” Erick later threatens to hunt Jake down and break some legs if he needs to. SURE, little Erick, go for it. Gia’s mom tells her that she thinks he really cares about her, which makes me nervous, because I just don’t see him picking Gia at the end of the day.

Next hometown date is Alli. They really seem to get along, I would not be surprised if he picks her, or at least she is down to the final two. She takes him to the house where she took care of her grandmother while she was sick. She and her grandmother were so close, she says losing her was really losing a mother.

Then we go to Oregon for Tenley. She performs a dance which she choreographed for him. I was uncomfortable watching it. While Tenley and her dad are talking, her dad starts to cry, talking about how painful it was to have watched Tenley be hurt before. At the end of the date, Jake asks Tenley’s dad for his permission to ask Tenley to marry her. He agrees. This makes me angry, he should not have done that unless he intends to ask Tenley to marry him.

Finally. Vienna’s home date. Vienna has done everything she needs to do in life? Isn’t she like 23? I’m not sure what to say, but I can’t do Vienna’s family.

Alli finds out that she needs to go back to work, and has to decide to quit her job and stay, or go back. Jake gives her a terrible answer – take a chance on me? GO BACK TO WORK, ALLI. He tells her he can’t guarantee he’s going to give her a ring, but can’t say he won’t.

Finally – the Rose ceremony. The ceremony begins with Alli asking to talk to Chris. She gets taken back to the Bachelor, and he tells her he doesn’t want her to go. Says she wasn’t on the line tonight. I just keep yelling at the TV – GO BACK TO WORK ALLI. Ultimately, she listens to me, and goes back to work, which means Tenley, Gia, and Vienna are all moving to the next round.

Someone predicted Alli would leave early! (And I highly DOUBT it was actually because of work) Just watch — Vienna will win!
