We’re still reeling (pun intended) from the Oscars and have done our fashion recap and now it’s time for beauty! Here’s a rundown of what products and steps were used by the beauty pros themselves to create the celebrity beauty looks at the Oscars.
Cameron Diaz’s Hair and Makeup
Makeup Artist Robin Fredriksz said, “We took the Veronica Lake regal, smooth, classic Hollywood look and gave it a modern but glamorous twist. We kept the warmth and added a little edge.” Robin started by applying CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Sand in the crease of the lids, and lining the entire eye with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir. To make Cameron’s eyes pop even more, Robin applied several coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir. As Cameron has loved a red lip lately, Robin lined her lips with CHANEL Lip Definer in Rouge, and applied the perfect true red lip shade – CHANEL Rouge Coco in Gabrielle. She used the same shade of lip color as a blush, dabbing a bit on the apples of the cheeks. Her nails were painted with CHANEL Nail Colour in Lotus Rouge. Stylist Lona Vigi was responsible for the hair: Lona started by spraying on Liqwd Volumizing Catalyst, then dried hair with the Velecta Paramount Paris TGR 4000i hairdryer and a medium round bristle brush. She set the hair with hot rollers, and once they were cool, removed them and brushed out the hair and secured the look with hairspray.
Jennifer Lopez’s Makeup
Matthew Vanleeuwen for NARS Cosmetics created Jennifer’s sizzling look, using Orgasm Illuminator, Cruising Lipstick, D. Gorgeous Single Eyeshadow, Sweet Dreams Lip Gloss and new-for-summer products Enchanted Cream Blush and Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
TRESemmé hair stylist Mara Roszak created Zoe’s chic up-do: “We wanted to have an editorial look because she was wearing Givenchy. We also didn’t want the hair and make up to compete with the dress so we created an elegant but effortless look,” says Mara. Her step: Apply TRESemmé Naturals Lightweight Mousse all over damp hair and blow dry away from the face to create volume, flipping head upside down when the hair is almost dry to finish. Separate the crown from the rest of the hair and pull back sides and back into a tight ponytail. Pull the hair almost all the way through, leaving the ends tucked into the pony tail holder to create a half bun shape. Let a few pieces in the back fall out for a messier look. Tease the top of the hair, pull back to meet the back and pin, criss-crossing the bobby pins for a secure hold. Spray all over with TRESemmé TRES TWO Extra Hold Hair Spray. Vera Steimberg did the makeup: “We decided to concentrate more on the eyes and give Zoe a look going up like the hair was. So I used the amazing Shu Uemura eye lashes in slant black, giving a little more sophisticated, and feminine look on her eyes. I also used the eyelash curler from Shu Uemura that i love! And the eyelash applicator!” For the rest of the look, she used an assortment of NARS products including the Orgasm Illuminator, Ophelia Lip Gloss, Brousse Duo Eyeshadow and new-for-summer products Love Devotion Lipstick, Enchanted Cream Blush and Lamu Multiple.
Sandra Bullock’s Makeup
The amazing Angela Levin created Sandra’s memorable look. “Tonight was Sandra’s big night and she was in a happy, ethereal mood. I wanted her to look like the true movie star she is, so we went with modern, classy Hollywood – dewy skin, soft eyes, and a bold classic red lip.”
Angela prepped Sandra’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage Fluid. She then used a foundation brush to apply CHANEL Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Fluid Makeup in Shell all over the face. She lined Sandra’s eyes with the darker brown shade in the same palette. Finally, she applied three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir for sexy, glamorous lashes. For the attention-getting lips, Angela applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paris. She finished the look by gently dabbing a bit of the same lip color on the apples of Sandra’s cheeks – Angela’s signature makeup trick. (more…)
