Celebrity Parties: From Greystone Mansion to Sunset Towers, We Hit all the Hot Celebrity Parties

Parties Parties Parties. Life’s so much more fun if you sprinkle parties into the main dish. This week my crew and I had a slew of events to hit. We started at a Beefeater Gin party at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills (check out all the movies filmed there!).  The mansion, set up in the hills, is something out of a fairy tale – lavish gardens, stunning view of the city and a romantic old house. The party celebrated the new Beefeater 24: the bottle is sexy (and people judge a liquor by the bottle even more often than a book by its cover); the taste is crisp and refreshing with infusions of grapefruit and tea. The British-themed food included grilled cheese sandwiches, Haddock croquettes with tartar sauce, crispy shrimp with aioli and branded cupcakes for desert. Yum yum yum.

Stopped for gas: Harrison Ford’s in the car next to me.

Sugaring

Next event: the opening party for Studio Alexandria in Brentwood, where guests had nibbles including cupcakes and lemon bars. The studio is devoted to sugaring. (I’ll cover this ancient method of hair removal more thoroughly on Blush.com and will tell you all about the bikini sugar I’m getting next week.) I had my arms sugared at the event — now, my mother always told me to leave your arm hair alone, so I always have, but I have to say my arms are as soft as a baby’s bum. While I could’ve stayed there all night chatting with the owner, Lina Kennedy, there was one more stop to make.

At the Sunset Tower Hotel on Sunset in West Hollywood, there was a celebration for the new line of Tacori jewelry called 18K925. The event was hosted by Ali Larter and sponsored by Veuve Clicquot, which friends will tell you is my drink — Veuve is to Meg as cigars are to Groucho Marx. So I gladly imbibed and looked at the pretty new jewels — Paul Tacori told me he was very proud of the line and loving the party. The necklace Ali wore is available to bid on at ClothesOffOurBack.org. Guests included Topher Grace and Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks (who plays the delicious Joan Holloway) and was even more gorgeous in person than she is in the halls of Sterling Cooper. Guests received a gift bag, which included this Tacori bracelet (right). The only negative was that the party cut into my Melrose Place watching. As I waited at the valet for my car, Renee Zellweger drove up (and no, Bradley Cooper was not with her) — the itty bitty teeny weeny actress was in her workout clothes and traveling solo.

Next party: Ryan Seacrest/Scope Outlast in Santa Monica (with my lovely friend Kristina). Ryan’s very charming and witty — he talked about how he mentioned his love of Scope once on his radio show and that’s how the relationship began. He said he’ll keep bottles of Scope all over the American Idol set. (He also mentioned he’s looking forward to sharing suits with new judge Ellen Degeneres.) We had champagne (suprise, surprise) and some delectable bites like spicy tuna on crispy rice, stuffed fingerling potatoes and creme brulee. Oh and some Scope, which we drank from shot glasses for a promo on E! News — it was very smooth and made my breath delightful for hours afterward — that’s the whole beauty of this new product. It’s super long-lasting so you rinse before you leave for the day and you’re good to go for hours.

And finally, a stop at Pink Taco to meet my sporty friends for ‘ritas and queso dip. The goal was to stay relatively tame because tomorrow morning I’m hitting the Emmy gifting suites. (How is it only Wednesday?!) Check back soon for a rundown of the goodies, stories and celebs!
