RUN GIRL, RUN!

OK, by now everyone knows what a twat John Mayer was in his Playboy interview (I would link to it– but that could get us in trouble). But, I should say, stop here if you’re still a fan. This morning, after all the infuriatingly racist, sexist, sex-obsessed TMI crap he unloaded on the public yesterday, that boy made me even more mad with his very self indulgent “apology.” His five minute sorry, scatted out over that weird, campy, slowly bubbling jazzy music which only added to the “performance” of it all, made me want to take a shower. How can we find him sincere after making a career of absurdist, ego maniacal, self-serving kiss-and-tell behavior? Also, is he echoing the word “clever” in the beginning like that in another misguided attempt at being clever? Affected. Is he, in that contrived, “how do I sound choked up” kind of way, while wringing his hands over that ready-to-be-squealed guitar— thinking that WE ARE BUYING THIS? Does he think we will cry with him while he breaks down over the words “I just wanted to play my guitar?” That toilet- tweeter stopped “just playing his guitar” YEARS AGO. And now he’s saying he “quits the media game.” Not buying that either, buddy– you’ve teased us with that before. Fathers, lock up your “Daughters.” Or I promise, they’ll be soundbites in his next creepy interview. There is no way this guy can keep his duck bill shut for very long. In closing, he says, “My name is John Mayer and I’m going to figure that out.” And then he just WAILS AWAY on that guitar again. Geez, what’s worse? The sounds out of his mouth or that squealing, whining guitar? Both are killing us. Compared to you big guy, Kanye is looking like a prince among men.

I think I just wasted 4:57 in watching that video. Ewww that guy is sooooo unbelievable gross, hasn’t he said he’s done with the media 100 times already?? Do like Kanye and go into hiding except, never come back with your crappy music! At least Kanye still has some good songs.

didn’t you think it was weird in the interview when he was like “our biggest disagreement was over twitter.” um, you’ve got jennifer aniston. walk away from tweeting about yourself ALL THE LIVELONG DAY. no one cares.
Still love him. Its the fact that he’s an asshole that makes him so appealing.
People know exactly what he is and they love it.
His music is great lyrically and musically.
Girls don’t fall for rock stars and bad boys because they are nice guys. No, you know what they are.
The girls he dated must have known what he was.
You can tell at first glance what he is about.
What ever happens to you during that relationship or encounter you cannot feign ignorance unless you are very stupid or very blind. He said a few shocking/stupid/distasteful things. He’s a rock star what do you expect. Just my opinion sorry if you don’t like it.
Look if you’re letting the media paint your picture of John Mayer, then he’s just that, an asshole.
I love and adore the man and this article didn’t change that. It’s just John being John.
John has a very dry/sarcastic since of humor and tends to speak what’s on his mind. He has foot in mouth disease, hell he even wrote a song about it. Yes, he has made mistakes along the way but haven’t we all? His mistakes just happen to be magnified because of his celebrity. It’s funny the media doesn’t mentioned the good things John has done they simply focus on the “bad” and then they twist it to fit the story they want to tell.
Kate I’m glad John is on twitter. Hell I’m glad a lot of celebrities are on twitter. It gives us a look at the person and not the persona. J Michelle I don’t think you’ve listened to any of John’s song or seen him live because he IS one of THE best singer/songwriters period. The man is also a guitar God and is already being compared to legendary players.
At the end of the day you either get him or you don’t. You love him or you hate him.
I’m proud to say that I get him and I love him, just the way he is.
He’s being honest. And he doesn’t give a fuck what you all think.
Jessica Simpson should be thanking John Mayer for giving her another 15 minutes of fame. Seriously, where the hell was she before the infamous Playboy interview? Doing ads for that acne cream, that’s where. I certainly don’t condone John’s comments towards black people but I honestly don’t think he meant to be racist. It was Playboy magazine for god’s sake! I went to 3 of his shows on the Battle Studies tour and all 3 were amazing. He’s an incredibly talented singer/songwriter and he is one of the best guitar players on the planet right now. I love his music and will continue to support him by buying his CD’s and going to his shows.
I am a woman of color, and have just tuned into this whole situation about his racist comments. The first time I saw John Mayer or even heard of him was on the tonight show ,when no one ever heard of him. I thought to myself “We will be seeing more of him” I thought he was so adorable, the way he bounced when he played his guitar and sang. I am old enough to be his mother, so I am not sweating this. But, I am so sorry to hear that he thinks black women are not attractive. Is that really true? Did he really say that? The last time I heard someone say that….. Well, he is married to a black girl now. I don’t think anyone should limit themselves because of race. I think you miss out on so much. I would like to say to John, watch out! They say once you go black, you never go back. John, you need a sweet, soft, smart and strong black woman to help you stay put!
I enjoyed following John on Twitter, will he be missed? Probably not, as Twitter is just getting sooo big, but he was strange and funny.
